Long thought of as just a sweet treat for topping pancakes, maple syrup is now recognised not only for its delicious taste and distinctive aroma, but also for its considerable health benefits. Made only in the North Eastern part of North America, and extracted solely from the concentration of sap from the maple tree, maple syrup is an unrefined natural sweetener which contains high amounts of antioxidants and is also a good source of several important vitamins and minerals including manganese and zinc. In ancient times the Native Americans even worshipped it with a Maple Dance, so it's all good with us!

Serving Suggestion:
Try a teaspoon of maple syrup with a nice quality cup of green tea. Brew the green tea with some crushed pieces of ginger, a dash of allspice, then add a wedge of lemon and the maple syrup. Tree-mendous!!!
